Chicken Korma Curry

Ingredients

  • nilgiri-chicken-korma1Chicken meat 1 kg
  • Onions 2
  • Turmeric powder 1tsp
  • Garlic cloves 2-3
  • Ground cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Powdered ginger seeds 2 tsp
  • Black cardamoms 2
  • Yoghurt 1 cup
  • Butter or cooking oil as required
  • Mustard seeds crushed 1 tsp

Recipe:

  • Cut chicken in 12 pieces and prick with the help of fork.
  • Blend onion, garlic and salt and mix with ginger powder and yoghurt.
  • Marinate chicken in this mixture for 1 hour.
  • Heat butter and sauté remaining onion slices.
  • Add turmeric powder, salt, red chili powder and all other spices and fry.
  • Add marinated chicken and cook uncovered on medium heat.
  • Add water and cook for further 10 minutes.
  • Remember gravy should be thick and adhere to chicken.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice and chapatti.
